3rd Level Course:

Multimedia at DCU

Why did you choose this course?

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do after college so I chose a course that would teach me a wide variety of skills and allow me to have options after graduation. I also knew I would enjoy working with computers in a creative field. Multimedia ticked all of these boxes.

How long is/was the course?

The course was three years long.

Current role / employment:

Digital Media Producer at the New York Stock Exchange

Best career achievement to date:

Getting a job in New York City!

Have you any advice for our current students?

Choose a college course that you have a true interest in, it’ll make the next 3+ years much more enjoyable.

If you don’t know exactly what you want to do in college, consider doing Transition Year. I got my first taste of working in the Media world when we visited the Kairos TV studio. We created our own show and it sparked my interest in Digital Media. I may have never had this experience if it weren’t for TY.

Best memory of Ratoath College:

This is a tough one, I have so many great memories of Ratoath College. The highlights for me were; spending a year going to school on a racecourse, the 1st year trip to Paris, taking part in the school fashion shows, musicals and talent shows, TY camping trips, dressing up as an elf for the first ever Ratoath College Christmas Village and making friendships that last a lifetime.
