The Halloween Mid-term break turned out to be a weekend of extraordinary sporting achievement for a number of members or the RC community, past and present.
On Saturday 26th October, the Ratoath GAA Camogie team became Leinster Champions with a 2-9 to 1-5 victory over Delvin of Westmeath. Read more about this great achivement here:
Also during the week 1st year students Eryn Birkhead and Ryan Dunne competed in the WKC World Kickboxing Championships which were held this year in Dublin. Ryan came away with a bronze medal while Eryn took home two bronze medals for her week's work.
Saturday 3rd November will be a day long remembered in Carrick-on-Shannon as Mr Moreton - that great bastion of Leitrim hurling - added the Connacht Club Championship title to his ever burgeoning repetoire, which also includes an All-Star award, as he helped his club Carrick to a 2-11 to 2-9 win over Ballygar of Galway in the Connacht final. To make their victory all the sweeter, the Carrick hurlers became the first ever men's club team from Leitrim to win a Connacht Championship title. Read more about this here:
