Whole School Practice of Assessment for Learning.
Here in Ratoath College the basic tenets of Assessment for Learning form the basis of our assessment policy. This includes such practices as:
- Use of various Assessment for Learning strategies such as: Traffic Lights, sharing the Learning Objective with students, setting Criteria for Success, use of Self and Peer Assessment strategies, wide ranging use of key questioning strategies, strategic written and verbal feedback.
- Continuous and regular assessment between our formal exams, comment only marking where teacher's comments are expected to be written or verbalised to explain the student’s grade and suggesting ways for them to improve.
