The Learning Curve

In September 2018 our 1st Year students will continue with a new programme developed by our teachers in 2017 called “The Learning Curve”.

This programme is designed to support our students in becoming independent learners and managing themselves and their learning more efficiently. It comprises one period per week which will focus on the various areas of school life and the young person as a learner adapting to the new environment of post-primary school. It is designed to support their transition from primary to post-primary education and the management of themselves and their learning.

Feedback on the introduction of learning curve gathered from parents, students and teachers has been very encouraging. Our student’s awareness of their individual learning habits as well as development of desired skills including interpersonal, collaborative, organisational and problem-solving skills are an encouraging and welcome development. Our students also have the opportunity to focus on their emotional wellbeing through the introduction to mindfulness.
